Gut microbiota of healthy Asians and their discriminative features revealed by metagenomics approach

The association between gut microbiota and health has become a forefront of research due to the complex symbiotic relationship between the gut microbiota and the human host. This study was conducted to elucidate the microbial architecture of the gut microbiota in Asian population, emphasizing on healthy Malaysians. We have conducted a comparative study using the whole metagenomics approach on the gut microbiota of Malaysians against other countries namely Thailand, India, and China, and represented the unique composition of the gut microbiota in Malaysian healthy individuals.

鉴于肠道微生物群（gut microbiota）与人类宿主间存在复杂的共生关系，二者的关联已成为当前研究前沿。本研究旨在阐明亚洲人群肠道微生物群的群落结构，重点关注健康马来西亚人群。本研究采用全宏基因组学（whole metagenomics）方法开展对比研究，对比分析马来西亚与泰国、印度、中国等国家人群的肠道微生物群，揭示了健康马来西亚个体肠道微生物群的独特组成特征。
