Evaluation and Classification of Traditional Villages in Anhui Province from Production-living-ecology Space Perspective

Traditional villages are a valuable gene pool for the inheritance of Chinese civilization. Promoting the development and protection of traditional villages is of great significance in optimizing village patterns. This paper takes Anhui Province as the research area, based on the resistance evaluation index system, harmonization degree model, and other methods, quantifies the development resistance level of the production-living-ecology spaces in Anhui Province. The results show that: (1) the production and living space development resistance in the northern and central Anhui region is smaller and more suitable for agricultural production and human habitat construction. (2) The northern and central Anhui region, in general, is on the edge of imbalance; the western and northern central Anhui and southern Anhui regions, in general, are in a state of basic harmonization of the production-living-ecology spaces, and the southern Anhui region, in general, is in a state of high harmonization. (3) Among the 470 traditional villages in Anhui Province, the scale control type reaches 341, accounting for 72.6%, the priority development type village 96, accounting for 20.4%, and the characteristic protection type village 33. This study can provide a theoretical reference for the protection and development planning of traditional villages in Anhui Province. The research findings could provide valuable insights for the protection of traditional villages and the development of rural civilization in Anhui Province.
