A key goal in the study of animal personalities is to determine their adaptive potential and importance for behavioural evolution. Behavioural syndromes are evolutionarily intriguing because they suggest that an adaptive change in one behaviour requires a concomitant shift in another. Within species, behavioural syndromes might be evolutionarily constrained by intrinsic mechanisms that restrict behaviours from evolving independently. Alternatively, behavioural correlations might easily be decoupled over short evolutionary time-scales due to variation in selective pressures between environments. In this regard, comparative studies that explore differences in diverse aspects of personality between geographically distinct populations can provide valuable insights into the evolutionary processes acting on different behavioural tendencies. 动物个性(animal personalities)研究的核心目标之一,是明确其适应性潜力以及在行为演化中的重要性。行为综合征(behavioural syndromes)从演化视角来看极具研究价值,因为其表明某一行为的适应性改变必然伴随另一行为的同步变化。在物种内部,行为综合征可能受到内在机制的演化约束,这类机制会限制各行为独立演化。反之,由于不同环境下选择压力存在差异,行为相关性或许可在较短的演化时间尺度内轻易解耦。基于此,对地理隔离种群间个性多维度差异展开比较研究,可帮助我们深入理解作用于不同行为倾向的演化进程。据此,我们针对四个地理隔离种群的纤细皮肤类群开展研究,以探究其行为类型与行为综合征之间的差异。
