Novel chitinolytic Jeongeupia strains

Two almost identical strains were screened in chitin-amended soil samples, isolated, and sequenced with PacBio's Sequel IIe. Strains exhibited strong chitin hydrolase activities, secreting the chitinoplastic enzymes into the chitin-containing liquid media. Enzymes might prove useful for N-acetylglucosamine production or as anti-mycotic crop protection agents.

研究人员在添加了几丁质（chitin）的土壤样本中筛选得到两株几乎完全一致的菌株，随后对其进行分离，并采用PacBio Sequel IIe平台完成测序。两株菌株均表现出极强的几丁质水解酶活性，可将几丁质塑性酶分泌至含几丁质的液体培养基中。该类酶有望应用于N-乙酰葡萄糖胺（N-acetylglucosamine）的生产，或作为抗真菌作物防护剂使用。
