Experimental combustions conducted at the Iberian Citadel of Calafell (Tarragona, Spain) between 2021 and 2022

Experimental program on replicas of archaeological combustion structures of the Iron Age, conducted within the TRANSCOMB Project in the Iberian Citadel of Calafell (Tarragona, Spain), to compare the fire behaviour with different locations, fuels, weather and temperature conditions, and evaluate how these affected other variables. <br>

<br>The experimentation was carried out in three different periods between the years 2021 and 2022, performed a total of 35 combustions and data includes information about the fuel-type and weight before and after the combustions, duration of combustions, and temperatures, among others.<br>

<br>A combination of methodologies has been applied for integrated analyses: anthracology, phytoliths and calcitic microfossils, Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrometry, micromorphology and chemical analysis of hearth surfaces.

针对铁器时代考古燃烧结构复制品的实验研究项目，依托西班牙塔拉戈纳卡拉费尔伊比利亚卫城的TRANSCOMB项目开展，旨在对比不同地点、燃料、天气及温度条件下的燃烧行为，并评估上述因素对其他变量的影响。

本实验于2021年至2022年间分三个不同阶段实施，共计完成35次燃烧实验。实验数据涵盖燃烧前后的燃料类型、燃料重量、燃烧时长以及温度等多项信息。

本次研究采用多方法组合开展综合分析，包括炭屑考古学（anthracology）、植硅体（phytoliths）与钙质微化石（calcitic microfossils）分析、傅里叶变换红外光谱法（Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrometry）、微形态学分析以及灶面化学分析。
