Patricia Bay Current Meter Deployed 2011-10-02

The Nortek Aquadopp Current Meter 1176 was deployed on 2011-10-02 at Patricia Bay. Patricia Bay is located in the Saanich Inlet, on the southern tip of Vancouver Island. This device is a Current Meter. Acoustic Current Meters (ACM) measure current speed and direction, using the Doppler Effect. Aquadopp current meters have a sensor head that contains 3 acoustic transducers, a tilt sensor, a temperature sensor and a pressure sensor. The instrument transmits a short pulse of sound, and then listens to its echo to measure the change in pitch or frequency. The change in pitch can determine the velocity of the current. It was deployed on a fixed platform. Data from this deployment were archived and made available through Ocean Networks Canada's Oceans 3.0 digital infrastructure, with quality assurance and derived data products following established practices.

诺泰克（Nortek）Aquadopp 1176型海流计于2011年10月2日部署于温哥华岛南端萨尼奇湾（Saanich Inlet）内的帕特里夏湾（Patricia Bay）。该设备为海流计，声学海流计（Acoustic Current Meters, ACM）依托多普勒效应测量海流的流速与流向。Aquadopp系列海流计的传感器头部集成3个声学换能器、一个倾斜传感器、一个温度传感器及一个压力传感器。该仪器通过发射短脉冲声波并接收其回波，以检测音高或频率的变化，进而通过音高变化推算海流流速。本次部署采用固定式平台搭载该设备，此次采集的数据已完成归档，并通过加拿大海洋网络（Ocean Networks Canada）的Oceans 3.0数字基础设施对外共享，所有数据均遵循既定规范完成质量管控，并提供符合标准的衍生数据产品。
