A draft sequence and preliminary analysis of the Neandertal genome

A draft sequence of the Neandertal genome composed of over 3 billion nucleotides from three individuals. Through comparisons of the Neandertal genome to the genomes of five present-day humans from different parts of the world allowed the analysis of admixture between Neandertals and ancestral modern humans, as well as the identifcation of a number of genomic regions that may have been affected by positive selection in ancestral modern humans.

本数据集为一套由三名个体样本构建、涵盖逾30亿个核苷酸位点的尼安德特人（Neandertal）基因组草图序列。通过将该尼安德特人基因组与全球不同地区的五名当代人类基因组进行比对，可分析尼安德特人与现代人类祖先间的基因混合事件，并鉴定出多个可能在现代人类祖先群体中经历正向选择（positive selection）的基因组区域。
