Abstract: The objective of this study was to evaluate serum levels of docosahexaenoic (DHA) and eicosapentaenoic (EPA) in the blood of pregnant women who received omega 3 supplementation through ingestion of capsules or linseed oil. Comparing the groups, there was a higher level for flax oil for AA and DHA contents, indicating that supplementation favored the metabolic pathway of both eicosanoid intermediates formation.
