An Analysis of Academics and their Scientific Publications in the Field of Management

Abstract Scientific production has been the focus of many discussions, particularly regarding the issue of scientific productivity. This study analyzes the profile and publications of academics (PhDs) working in the field of management in Brazil and their respective scientific publications, in order to identify the factors that explain this particular aspect of scientific productivity. Using descriptive statistics and statistical models based on data about 1976 researchers registered on the Brazilian Lattes database which compiles Brazilian academic researchers' curriculum vitaes, the study identified factors related to academic education and experience that have an impact on academics' scientific productivity in Management. Research results also indicate that important changes in the patterns of academic education and productivity are taking place in Brazil. Considering the centrality of scientific productivity, the paper suggests new studies to increase discourse regarding the future path of intellectual production and graduate management programs in Brazil.

摘要：科研产出始终是学界热议的核心议题，其中科研生产力相关问题更是受到广泛关注。本研究以巴西管理学领域学者（博士）的个人履历与学术成果为分析对象，旨在探明影响该群体科研生产力特定维度的相关因素。本研究基于收录于巴西Lattes数据库（Lattes Database）的1976名研究者的相关数据，运用描述性统计方法与统计模型开展分析，最终识别出与学术教育背景及从业经历相关的、能够显著影响管理学领域学者科研生产力的因素。研究结果同时表明，巴西的学术教育模式与科研生产力格局正经历重要变革。鉴于科研生产力的核心地位，本研究倡议开展后续相关研究，以深化关于巴西知识产出与管理学研究生培养项目未来发展路径的探讨。
