Celeribacter baekdonensis strain LH4 is a thiosulfate-oxidizing Alphaproteobacterium isolated from Gulf of Mexico continental slope sediments. This strain has been studied for its capacity to precipitate barites and leach carbonates while oxidizing thiosulfate. Strain LH4 attaches to and forms biofilms on mineral surfaces. It has the genetic potential to degrade PAHs to include styrene.
白墩莱里杆菌(Celeribacter baekdonensis)LH4菌株是一株从墨西哥湾大陆坡沉积物中分离得到的硫代硫酸盐氧化型α-变形菌(Alphaproteobacterium)。该菌株因可在氧化硫代硫酸盐的同时沉淀重晶石(barites)并溶蚀碳酸盐矿物的特性而受到研究。LH4菌株可附着于矿物表面,并在其表面形成生物膜(biofilms)。该菌株具备降解包括苯乙烯(styrene)在内的多环芳烃(Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons,PAHs)的遗传潜力。
