Xenorhabdus griffinae is a gram-negative bacteria of the genus Xenorhabdus and have a mutulistic association with Steinernema species and pathogenic association with insects. The bacteria colonizes the gut of the vector and is released into the haemolymph of the host upon entry. The bacteria releases toxins that are lethal to the insect and result in larval martality post infection. This study aims to use genomics to understand the tripartite nematode-bacteria-host system in terms of colonization, mutualism and parasitism.

格里菲奈致病杆菌（Xenorhabdus griffinae）是致病杆菌属（Xenorhabdus）的革兰氏阴性菌，与斯氏线虫属（Steinernema）物种存在互利共生关系，同时与昆虫具有致病关联。该菌定殖于媒介线虫的肠道内，进入宿主昆虫体内后会被释放至其血淋巴中。该菌可分泌对昆虫具有致死活性的毒素，感染后会引发幼虫死亡。本研究旨在借助基因组学技术，从定殖、共生与寄生三个维度解析线虫-细菌-宿主三方互作系统。
