Sequencing and de novo assembly of the Photinus pyralis genome. Photinus pyralis

This project aims to produce a reference genome for Photinus pyralis, one of the most widespread species of firefly in North America, and original source of the firefly luciferase gene used in biotechnology. This reference Photinus pyralis genome will assist research into firefly biology, conservation, evolution, and could lead to the elucidation of new biotechnological tools.
