This study presents a comprehensive decade-long analysis of 6,342 Candida albicans isolates collected across 41 countries as part of the ATLAS global surveillance program. To our knowledge, this represents one of the largest and most geographically diverse datasets evaluating antifungal susceptibility trends in C. albicans. Our findings confirm the continued efficacy of echinocandins and amphotericin B but reveal early, measurable shifts in azole susceptibility and the emergence of geographically confined resistance clusters—particularly in southern Europe and East Asia. These observations carry significant implications for antifungal stewardship, regional treatment policy, and early resistance detection.
