This feature layer defines the spatial extents and administrative boundaries for Engineering Operations Technicians (EOT) across the Iowa Department of Transportation (Iowa DOT) highway network. Role Overview Engineering Operations Technicians serve as regional primary points of contact responsible for protecting, preserving, and maintaining the operational safety of Iowa’s state transportation system. Key responsibilities include: Reviewing and managing local right-of-way (ROW) permits and access requests. Coordinating utility accommodations and construction impacts along state corridors. Conducting field and project site visits. Investigating and resolving public, inter-agency, and stakeholder inquiries or complaints. Data Structure & Lineage The linear boundaries in this mapping service were derived using the Iowa DOT's Roadway Asset Management System (RAMS) Linear Referencing System (LRS). The dataset is spatially linked to an updated contact table containing current personnel assignments, district affiliations, and direct contact details for each EOT region.
