The study aimed to examine the effect of problem-based learning (PBL) on students' problem-solving ability in the teaching and learning of simple machines in physics. The study was guided by socio constructionist theory. Quasi-experiment was conducted with 829 form-2 Physics students from eight (8) selected lower secondary schools in Sheema District, Uganda. Schools were assigned to treatment and control groups using a purposive random sampling technique. Students’ problem-solving ability was measured by conducting a problem-solving ability test in each group before and after studying a chapter on simple machines in physics. 本研究旨在探讨基于问题的学习(Problem-Based Learning,PBL)对物理简易机械教学中学生问题解决能力的影响。本研究以社会建构主义理论为指导。研究采用准实验设计,选取乌干达希马区(Sheema District)8所选定初中的829名初二物理学生作为研究对象。通过目的性随机抽样法将各校分配至实验组与对照组。在两组学生学习物理简易机械章节前后,分别通过问题解决能力测试对其问题解决能力进行测评。相关数据可于所提供的Excel工作表中查阅。
