Indeed, nothing indicates us that this woman is particularly wealthy - whereas the people who paid for there bust to be done were auite rich. Therefore, this means the artist chose his model and was probably not paid for this work, or at least not by the model herself. Her natural soft expression and her casual clothes also show that the artist wanted to capture a moment from the daily life of a working-class woman.
