Aquatic Plant Survey, Loon Lake, Vilas County Wisconsin from 2013-2025

Aquatic plants were collected during the collection of benthic macroinvertebrates from Loon Lake in Vilas County, Wisconsin, from 2013-2025. Non-vascular plants were collected from 2013-2016. Plants were sorted by type onto weighed coffee filters and dried for twenty-four hours. From 2017-2025 vascular plants were included. Replicate samples were collected annually in July using an Ekman Dredge georeferenced sampling locations. Sampling sites were selected to represent dominant plant communities, including Myriophyllum tenellum at 3 ft depth, Isoetes echinospora at 8 ft, and Nitella spp. at 15 ft. The dataset reflects long-term community changes and supports long‑term ecological and lake‑management analyses.
