This work was conducted in Moorea, French Polynesia to investigate the interacting effects of multiple stressors on the coral microbiome. The coral Pocillopora meandrina was fragmented into mesocosm tanks and subjected to thermal stress, nitrate or ammonium enrichment, and manual scarring for 21 days. DNA samples were taken after the treatment period and 16S libraries were prepared and sequenced. This work adds to our understanding of how multiple local and global stressors interact to cause changes in the coral microbiome.

本研究于法属波利尼西亚的莫雷阿岛开展,旨在探究多重胁迫因子对珊瑚微生物组的交互影响。实验选取鹿角杯形珊瑚(Pocillopora meandrina),将其分割后转接至中型实验生态系(mesocosm)水箱,分别施加热胁迫、硝酸盐或铵盐富集处理,并开展人工划伤操作,实验周期持续21天。处理阶段结束后采集DNA样本,构建16S核糖体RNA基因文库并完成测序。本研究可为解析本地与全球多重胁迫因子协同驱动珊瑚微生物组变化的机制提供新的认知基础。
