Acipenser naccarii Genome sequencing and assembly

We generated a high-quality chromosome-scale reference genome for A. naccarii. This high-quality reference genome is a valuable resource for both the conservation of this critically endangered species and the study of genome evolution in sturgeons. As the first chromosome-level assemblies available for polyploid sturgeons, it offers key insights into the genetic and evolutionary mechanisms underlying polyploidy, contributing to a broader understanding of genome duplication in vertebrates. In the face of persistent environmental and anthropogenic challenges, this genomic resource represents a critical step toward to develop the conservation strategy for this species.
