Embodied Size

We aimed to investigate how size/amount as a physical feature of concepts is embodied and realized in co-speech gestures when it is encoded in a size-amount word (e.g., literal: big house; metaphorical: big influence) or in a non-size-amount word that metaphorically refers to the size or amount of something (e.g., a world of money, a sea of wealth).

本研究旨在探究，概念的物理特征——尺寸与数量，在被编码于表尺寸与数量的词汇（如字面义用法："大房子"；隐喻义用法："重大影响"），或是被编码于以隐喻方式指代某事物尺寸或数量的非表尺寸与数量词汇（例如"金钱的世界""财富的海洋"）时，该特征如何在伴随言语手势中具身呈现与实现。
