COVID-19, caused by SARS-CoV-2, has spread worldwide with a dire disaster situation. To urgently investigate the pathogenicity of COVID-19 and develop vaccines and therapeutics, animal models that are highly susceptible to SARS-CoV-2 infection are needed. In the present study, we established an animal model highly susceptible to SARS-CoV-2 via the intratracheal tract infection in CAG-promoter-driven human angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 transgenic (CAG-hACE2) mice.
由严重急性呼吸综合征冠状病毒2(SARS-CoV-2)引发的新型冠状病毒肺炎(COVID-19)已在全球范围内蔓延,疫情态势极为严峻。为迫切探究COVID-19的致病性并开发疫苗与治疗药物,亟需构建对SARS-CoV-2感染高度易感的动物模型。本研究通过气管内感染途径,在CAG启动子驱动的人血管紧张素转换酶2转基因(CAG-hACE2)小鼠中,成功建立了对SARS-CoV-2高度易感的动物模型。
