The Mass Flux and Ice Discharge (MFID) Essential Climate Variable (ECV) is produced as part of the ESA CCI+ Phase 2 project. MFID is based on a forked version of the solid ice discharge algorithm using ice velocity and surface elevation data from the ESA CCI ECVs only. Furthermore the flux gates are positioned 10 km from the front and a fast ice limit is at 150 m/yr.
