Quantitative Observation on Plantago major in Dandy Grasslands

In collaboration with another group member: the height, distance, crowding level and physical characteristics of <em>Plantago major</em> was recorded along a 3000 centimetre transect. All data was collected on Dandy Grasslands of York University on September 21st 2015 from 3:00pm-5:00pm on a clear, moderately temperate day. Starting from the middle of the Grassland, excel generated random number to determine how many steps were taken in a certain direction and a coin was flipped to determine whether these steps would be taken East or West. A 3000 centimetre transect was set at this point and the species of interest was chosen to be <em>Plantago major.</em> Along the transect, each time <em>Plantago major</em> was identified it's height (cm), distance along the transect (cm), number of leaves, number of flowers and crowded level were all recorded. 50 samples were collected. Data was collected to demonstrate the abundance of<em> Plantago major </em>in Dandy Grasslands of York University.
