The effects of dietary fiber vary depending on its type and the composition of gut microbiota, Certain microbes only act as probiotics when appropriate dietary fiber is present, and dietary fiber is also combined with specific microbes to maximize its efficacy. Our study provides new theoretical support for probiotic prebiotic interaction and precise treatment of GDM.

膳食纤维的生物学效应因其种类与肠道菌群（gut microbiota）组成的不同而存在差异。部分微生物仅在存在适宜膳食纤维的条件下才具备益生菌（probiotics）的功能，且膳食纤维需与特定微生物联合使用方能最大化其功效。本研究为益生菌-益生元互作机制以及妊娠糖尿病（GDM）的精准治疗提供了全新的理论支撑。
