Heart rot is considered to be an important source of error in forest carbon accounting, especially in old-growth forests dominated by large trees. However, the relationship between heart rot and carbon sinks has not been sufficiently studied. Here, we provide a dataset to study this issue using Korean pine (Pinus koraiensis Sieb. et Zucc.), a dominant tree species in typical temperate old-growth forests, as an example.

心腐病(Heart rot)被视为森林碳核算中的重要误差来源,在以大径木为优势种的原生老龄林中尤为突出。然而,目前学界关于心腐病与碳汇之间的关联尚未开展充分研究。为此,我们以温带典型原生老龄林的优势树种红松(Pinus koraiensis Sieb. et Zucc.)为研究实例,构建了用于该问题研究的数据集。
