Body condition scoring is a simple method to estimate the energy supply of dairy cattle. We investigated how computer vision-based supervised deep learning, specifically neural networks, can automate body condition scoring. To execute this, we have used video recordings of the rumps of a large number of animals. We have trained and tested various convolutional neural networks with this collected data. The weights of our trained CNNs are freely available, supporting similar works.

体况评分是评估乳牛能量供给状态的一种简便方法。本研究探究了基于计算机视觉的监督式深度学习（尤其是神经网络）如何实现体况评分的自动化。为开展此项工作，我们采集了大量受试乳牛臀部区域的视频录像，并基于该数据集对多种卷积神经网络（Convolutional Neural Networks, CNN）进行了训练与测试。我们训练得到的卷积神经网络模型权重已免费公开，可为同类研究提供支持。
