The cuticle wax covering leaf surface is a whitish hydrophobic protective barrier in Chinese cabbage. The wax-deficient products of Chinese cabbage generally have higher commercial value for the tender texture and glossy appearance. Herein, two allelic wax deficient mutants, wdm1 and wdm7, were obtained from the EMS mutagenesis population of a Chinese cabbage DH line FT.

覆盖于大白菜（Chinese cabbage）叶片表面的角质层蜡质（cuticle wax），是一类呈白色的疏水防护屏障。蜡质缺失型大白菜材料通常因质地柔嫩、外观鲜亮光泽而具备更高的商业价值。本研究从大白菜双单倍体（DH）品系FT的乙基甲磺酸（EMS）诱变群体中，成功获得两个等位基因蜡质缺失突变体wdm1与wdm7。
