Metadata for European forest soil microbiomes under disturbance and management

This table contains metadata (soil, microbial, and site metadata) for the data paper titled "European forest soil microbiomes under disturbance and management". Forest soils were sampled in boreal, temperate, and Mediterranean forests under different management and natural disturbance regimes, including windthrow, fire, clearcutting, thinning, and root exclusion alongside undisturbed controls across 22 study areas (452 locations). The dataset includes, for each sample, treatment description, soil chemistry, microbial biomass, potential enyzme activity and metabarcoding data of fungal and bacterial communities.
