Supporting dataset for "Extended predictability of metabolic constraints on fish habitat"

This dataset contains processed outputs from a coupled physical–biogeochemical prediction system based on the Geophysical Fluid Dynamics Laboratory (GFDL) Earth System Model. The data were used to compute the normalized metabolic index, which served as the basis for the figures presented in the manuscript titled "Extended predictability of metabolic constraints on fish habitat." The metabolic index was calculated using monthly mean temperature and oxygen data from both reanalysis (reconstructed) and retrospective forecast experiments. These outputs were used to evaluate prediction skill, budget terms, and relationships with fish catch variability, including bigeye tuna catch in the tropical Pacific.
