This transcriptomics experiment was designed to help understand how gene expression patterns of structural enzymes and their transcriptional regulators affect secondary metabolism and metabolite profiles in different blueberry species. Breeding cultivars with improved flavonoid content or composition could improve their value fresh fruit market and also contribute to the development of new processed blueberry products. Berries were derived from cultivated collections of hexaploid Vaccinium hexaploid virgatum (Rabbiteye) 'Velluto Blue'. Fruit was harvested at five different developmental stages.
本转录组学(transcriptomics)实验旨在阐明结构酶(structural enzymes)及其转录调控因子(transcriptional regulators)的基因表达模式,对不同蓝莓物种次级代谢(secondary metabolism)与代谢物谱(metabolite profiles)的调控作用。培育黄酮类物质(flavonoid)含量或组成得到优化的栽培品种,既可提升鲜果市场价值,也可为新型蓝莓加工产品的研发提供支撑。实验所用浆果取自六倍体兔眼蓝莓(Vaccinium virgatum,Rabbiteye)‘Velluto Blue’的栽培种质材料,并分别于五个不同的果实发育阶段完成采收。
