PRIMARY PERIOPERATIVE OUTCOMES OF ENDARTERECTOMY AND ANGIOPLASTY IN THE TREATMENT OF CAROTID ARTERY STENOSIS AT A TERTIARY PUBLIC UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL

Retrospective observational study in patients submitted to carotid endarterectomy (CEA) and transluminal carotid angioplasty (TCA), based on the review of 78 medical records divided into 2 groups, according to the presence or absence of symptoms. Patients selected for surgical intervention comprised both asymptomatic with stenosis greater than 80% and symptomatic with >70% stenosis of the lumen of the internal carotid artery (ICA), basing the degrees of stenosis on the NASCET/ECST criteria.

本研究为一项针对接受颈动脉内膜切除术（carotid endarterectomy, CEA）与经腔内颈动脉成形术（transluminal carotid angioplasty, TCA）患者的回顾性观察研究，通过回顾分析78份病历资料，按照患者是否存在临床症状将其划分为两组。本研究纳入的接受手术干预的患者包含两类：颈内动脉（internal carotid artery, ICA）管腔狭窄程度＞80%的无症状患者，以及管腔狭窄程度＞70%的有症状患者，狭窄程度的判定严格遵循NASCET/ECST标准。
