Comparative analysis of gut microbiota between Macaca fascicularis fascicularis and M. f. aurea in different habitats

This study compares the gut microbiota of two subspecies of Macaca fascicularis; M. f. fascicularis and M. f. aurea, in both island and mangrove populations. In total 4 populations were selected, and 120 fecal samples (30 samples from each population) were collected using fecal swab method, and the full length 16S rRNA (V1-V9) gene was amplified and sequenced on MinION platform.

本研究对食蟹猴（Macaca fascicularis）的两个亚种——指名食蟹猴（M. f. fascicularis）与金黄食蟹猴（M. f. aurea）的肠道菌群展开对比分析，研究对象涵盖岛屿种群与红树林种群。本研究共选取4个种群，采用粪便拭子法采集120份粪便样本（每个种群30份），随后对全长16S rRNA（V1-V9区）基因进行扩增，并在MinION平台上完成测序。
