Biome distributions for Beringia were simulated for the Late Quaternary periods by employing a global equilibrium biogeochemistry-biogeography model, BIOME4. This model was driven by the same numerical climate model outputs as used for the frozen ground mapping, and validated against the above pollen-based biomes. Projection of future biomes for the region has also been produced.

本研究利用全球平衡生物地球化学-生物地理学模型(BIOME4),对白令陆桥晚第四纪时期的生物群系(biome)分布进行了模拟。该模型由与冻土制图所用的同一套数值气候模型输出结果驱动,并基于上述基于孢粉的生物群系完成了验证。此外,本研究还生成了该区域未来生物群系的预测结果。
