eeHIFLUGCS: X-Ray Masses for a Complete Sample of about 400 Galaxy Clusters

Currently, the largest complete local Xray cluster sample with full highquality Xray coverage is HIFLUGCS. Its selection is based on the ROSAT AllSkySurvey and complete Xray followup has been performed with Chandra andXMMNewton, resulting in numerous applications in cluster physics and cosmology.The combination of high completeness, large sample size, and high qualityfollowup has been crucial for this wide applicability. Here, we propose asixfold increase in sample size with a new complete high quality sample of virgul400clusters, eeHIFLUGCS. We demonstrate that this sample constitutes the ultimatestep before eROSITA and that this significantly increased statistics will enablesubstantial (factor virgul3) improvements in precision as well as qualitatively new tests. truncated!, Please see actual data for full text [truncated!, Please see actual data for full text]
