Proximity ligation metagenomic sequencing of samples from two activated sludge full-scale municipal wastewater treatment facilities in the Upper Midwest USA, utilizing different anaerobic digestion technologies. Facility M uses a conventional (35C) anaerobic digester, while Facility T uses a two stage anaerobic digester, with the first stage at 55C and the second stage at 35C. Three samples were taken from the untreated wastewater, activated sludge, and each digester stage.
