The aim of this study is to culture bacteria from the gastrointestinal tract of mice. These will be whole genome sequenced to provide an extensive database of the mouse microbiota, which can be used in projects involving mouse models . The samples sequenced here are 16S amplicons from a range of culturing experiments using a variety of media and mouse backgrounds. The faecal samples used and plate scarpes will be profiled to gain insight into how to best culture bacteria of interest from the mouse gut. This data is part of a pre-publication release.
