Synthesis of a New Class of β-Iodo <i>N</i>-Alkenyl 2-Pyridones

A new method for the synthesis of β-iodo N-alkenyl 2-pyridones from substituted 2-propargyloxypyridines has been discovered . These compounds present a unique complement of orthogonal functionality and structural characteristics that are unavailable via other routes. The ready access to these compounds renders them an important entry point for the preparation of more complex N-alkyl pyridone-containing targets.本研究发现了一种以取代2-炔丙氧基吡啶（substituted 2-propargyloxypyridines）为原料合成β-碘代N-烯基2-吡啶酮（β-iodo N-alkenyl 2-pyridones）的全新方法。该类化合物具备独特的正交官能团组合与结构特性，这类性质无法通过其他合成路径获得。该类化合物的便捷可及性，使其成为制备更复杂的含N-烷基吡啶酮目标分子的重要起始原料。
