Chlorella is a unicellular green alga and some species (strain) of Chlorella are known as endosymbiont of protists and animals. To clarify the differences between free-living species and endosymbiotic species, we performed whole genome sequencing of one free-living strain and three endosymbiotic species of Paramecium bursaria, Mayorella viridis, and Stentor sp. for comparative genomic analyses.

小球藻(Chlorella)是一类单细胞绿藻,部分小球藻物种(菌株)可作为原生生物与动物的内共生体。为阐明自由生活型物种与内共生型物种之间的差异,本研究对1株自由生活菌株,以及分别寄生于双小核草履虫(Paramecium bursaria)、绿色多形虫(Mayorella viridis)和喇叭虫属(Stentor sp.)的3株内共生物种开展了全基因组测序,以进行比较基因组分析。
