Complex virus-virus interactions can arise when multiple viruses coinfect the same host, impacting infection outcomes with broader ecological and evolutionary significance for viruses and host. Molecular interference of two dsDNA viruses which infect an important Arctic algal host, Micromonas polaris, was studied in co-infection experiments with the aim of elucidating some of these complex viral interactions.

当多种病毒共感染同一宿主时,可产生复杂的病毒-病毒相互作用,此类相互作用会影响感染结局,且对病毒与宿主均具有更广泛的生态学和进化学意义。本研究通过共感染实验,对侵染北极关键藻类宿主极地微芒藻(Micromonas polaris)的两种双链DNA(double-stranded DNA, dsDNA)病毒的分子干扰效应展开研究,旨在阐明部分此类复杂的病毒相互作用。
