Bacterial DNA was isolated from two water samples: 1 location in the Bering Strait from the chlorophyll max layer (7m depth) and 1 location in the Chukchi Sea from bottom water (55m depth). The samples were collected with the purpose of sequencing the metagenome to serve as a protein identification database for a metaproteomics study.研究人员从两份水样中分离得到细菌脱氧核糖核酸（DNA）：其中一份采集自白令海峡的叶绿素最大层（水深7米），另一份采集自楚科奇海的底层水体（水深55米）。本研究采集两份水样的目的为对其宏基因组进行测序，以作为宏蛋白质组学研究的蛋白质鉴定数据库。
