Data from "Seven decades of exploitation restructure the biodiversity of Pacific chondrichthyans with high climate and fisheries vulnerability"

This dataset provides a comprehensive, ocean-basin-scale reconstruction of chondrichthyan fisheries exploitation (sharks, rays, skates, and chimaeras) across the Pacific Ocean over a seven-decade period (1950–2019). Utilizing reconstructed catch data from the Sea Around Us database (version 50.1), the study evaluates long-term non-linear trajectories, structural transitions, and multidimensional facets of biodiversity across six major FAO fishing areas (61, 67, 71, 77, 81, and 87). Furthermore, it integrates species-specific traits to evaluate the intersection of historical extraction with intrinsic fishing vulnerability (FVS) and climate vulnerability (CVS).
