This study evaluated the in situ electrochemical activity of microbial communities in a subsurface mine site, Deep Mine Microbial Observatory (DeMMO) in South Dakota, USA. In situ electrochemical enrichment and monitoring was utilized to assess extracellular electron transfer metabolic activity. The diversity of the resultant enriched communities was evaluated with 16S rRNA sequencing of the V4 region.
本研究针对美国南达科他州深部矿井微生物观测站(Deep Mine Microbial Observatory, DeMMO)这一地下矿井场地中的微生物群落原位电化学活性展开评估。研究采用原位电化学富集与监测手段,对群落的胞外电子转移(extracellular electron transfer)代谢活性进行表征。后续通过对最终富集得到的微生物群落的16S rRNA基因V4区进行测序,分析其群落多样性。
