We studied the microbial composition and diagnostic microbiology results of bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL) samples taken from adult COVID-19 patients and non-COVID-19 patients receiving artificial ventilation in a teaching hospital ICU. We observed that although COVID-19 patients had a greater incidence of VAP, the causative pathogens were similar in both groups.
