Whole transcriptome Shotgun Sequencing of the male Anopheles funestus mosquito with regards to the sexual maturation process.

The differential gene expression between a newly emerged male and a sexually mature male can provide insight to male sexual maturity, of the Anopheles funestus mosquito. The aim of this investigation is to compare and discover differentially expressed genes of Anopheles funestus between Stage 0 and Stage 3 of the genitalia rotation process (sexually mature vs. sexually immature) by RNA-seq in order to elucidate transcripts involved in the sexual maturation process.

新羽化雄蚊与性成熟雄蚊之间的基因表达差异，可为解析富氏按蚊（Anopheles funestus）的雄性性成熟机制提供重要线索。本研究旨在通过RNA测序（RNA-seq）技术，比较富氏按蚊在生殖器旋转过程第0期与第3期（即性成熟与性未成熟状态）的差异表达基因，以阐明参与其性成熟过程的转录本。
