These data demonstrate that parental exposure to bacterial infection and osmotic stress intergenerational changes in offspring gene expression in C. elegans, C. kamaaina, C. briggsae and C. tropicalis. Many of these intergenerational changes in gene expression are observed in multiple species and this data identified >250 genes that exhibit intergenerational changes in expression in all species tested. We exposed parents to multiple different bacterial pathogens (P. vranovensis, P. sp 15C5, Aeromonas sp. BIGb0469, and S. plymuthica) and osmotic stress and assayed effects on F1 and F3 gene expression.

本数据集证实,亲本暴露于细菌感染与渗透胁迫后,会引发秀丽隐杆线虫(C. elegans)、卡马伊纳隐杆线虫(C. kamaaina)、布里格斯隐杆线虫(C. briggsae)以及热带隐杆线虫(C. tropicalis)子代基因表达的跨代改变。此类基因表达跨代变化现象在多个物种中均有观测到,本数据集共鉴定出250余个在所有受试线虫物种中均存在表达跨代变化的基因。本研究将亲本暴露于多种不同的细菌病原体(P. vranovensis、P. sp 15C5、气单胞菌属Aeromonas sp.
