The purpose of the dataset C. elegans terminal bulb aging is to deduce the age of the nemathode based on images of the pharynx terminal bulb (part of the eating apparatus). Images of C. elegans were taken at different chronological ages. This image is part of the day 0 data set. Note that the morphological and chronological ages are not fully correlated due to the variability among individuals even though the individuals are genetically identical. The source for the dataset is Laboratory of Genetics/NIA/NIH.本数据集为秀丽隐杆线虫咽端球衰老数据集（C. elegans terminal bulb aging），旨在基于线虫咽部端球（摄食器官的组成部分）的显微图像推断秀丽隐杆线虫的实际年龄。该数据集的图像采集自不同日龄的秀丽隐杆线虫，本次展示的图像属于日龄0数据集的一部分。需注意：即便个体为遗传同源的同基因系，由于个体间存在生理异质性，线虫的形态学年龄与时间年龄（日龄）并非完全相关。该数据集的来源为美国国立卫生研究院（NIH）下属国家衰老研究所（NIA）遗传学实验室。
