Endeavour Sediment Trap Deployed 2024-06-08

The McLane Sediment Trap 78H-21 (S/N 14753-02) was deployed on 2024-06-08 at Endeavour. Endeavour is located near the northern end of the Juan de Fuca Ridge, west of the coast of Washington and southwest of Vancouver Island. This device is a Sediment Trap. Sediment traps use a conical-shaped trap to guide settling particles into a set of sample bottles. Separate bottle samples are collected as the instrument is rotated. Sediment traps can be remotely triggered by a user or on a set schedule. Sediment traps record operational conditions including the sample date, time, and temperature during each sampling event. Upon instrument recovery, the samples are analyzed in a lab for particle flux and composition over time. It was deployed on a fixed platform. Data from this deployment were archived and made available through Ocean Networks Canada's Oceans 3.0 digital infrastructure, with quality assurance and derived data products following established practices.

麦克莱恩沉积物捕获器（Sediment Trap）78H-21（序列号S/N 14753-02）于2024年6月8日在恩迪沃夫海域布放。恩迪沃夫海域地处胡安德富卡海脊北端附近，位于华盛顿州海岸以西、温哥华岛西南侧。该设备为沉积物捕获器，通过锥形捕集结构将沉降颗粒导入一组采样瓶中；随仪器旋转，可依次采集不同采样瓶内的样品。沉积物捕获器支持用户远程触发采样，亦可按照预设计划自动启动。每次采样过程中，设备均会记录采样日期、时间及环境温度等运行工况。待设备回收后，实验室将对采集的样品开展分析，以获取随时间变化的颗粒通量与组分特征。本次布放搭载于固定平台之上。本次布放产生的全部数据已完成归档，并通过加拿大海洋网络（Ocean Networks Canada）的Oceans 3.0数字基础设施对外共享；所有数据均遵循既定操作规范开展质量管控，并衍生出配套数据产品。
