Neonatal necrotizing enterocolitis complicated with livedo reticularis: a case report

Livedo reticularis(LR), a reddish-violaceous netlike pattern on the skin, is a common clinical sign in dermatology. Its etiology and pathogenesis are complex, yet it often does not receive sufficient attention in neonatology. We describe a full-term female newborn in whom LR preceded the onset of the symptoms of neonatal necrotizing enterocolitis(NEC). With timely treatment, her symptoms of NEC were cured; however, the LR did not disappear until she reached 4 months of age. Our case highlights the importance of close clinical attention and examinations for infants with persistent LR. These infants may develop systemic diseases, such as infections, embolisms, and autoimmune diseases, among others.

网状青斑（Livedo reticularis, LR）是一种以皮肤出现紫红色网状纹路为特征的常见皮肤科临床体征，其病因与发病机制较为复杂，但在新生儿科领域往往未得到足够重视。本文报告1例足月女婴病例，其网状青斑症状先于新生儿坏死性小肠结肠炎（Necrotizing Enterocolitis, NEC）发作出现。经及时治疗后，患儿的坏死性小肠结肠炎症状得以痊愈，但网状青斑直至其4月龄时才完全消退。本病例凸显了对持续存在网状青斑的婴幼儿予以密切临床关注与相关检查的重要性，此类患儿可能罹患感染、栓塞性疾病及自身免疫性疾病等全身性疾病。
