Stress and quality of life of the family caregivers of elderly with Alzheimer's disease

ABSTRACT This study aimed to analyze the relationship between stress and quality of life of family caregivers of elderly with Alzheimer's disease. It is a quantitative study of descriptive type, conducted with 43 family caregivers of elderly with Alzheimer's. These were submitted to a semi-structured interview, the Brazilian Version of the Questionnaire Short-Form Health Survey of Quality of Life and the Inventory of Symptoms of Stress to Lipp Adults. It was verified that family caregivers of elderly present deeply affected health conditions, providing a stress frame which is related to their quality of life, especially in the physical, social and emotional domains.

本研究旨在分析阿尔茨海默病（Alzheimer's disease）老年患者家庭照料者的压力与生活质量之间的关联。本研究为描述性定量研究，共纳入43名该类老年患者的家庭照料者作为研究对象。所有研究对象均接受半结构化访谈、生活质量健康调查简表（Short-Form Health Survey of Quality of Life）巴西版，以及利普成人压力症状量表（Inventory of Symptoms of Stress to Lipp Adults）的测评。研究结果证实，此类家庭照料者普遍存在健康状况严重受损的情况，其所承受的压力状态与自身生活质量密切相关，尤其体现在生理、社会与情感维度。
