Abstract: The present study aimed to investigate the reasons why the municipal public schools, located in nearby quarters, had not yet visited the Museum of Life. To that end, 14 public schools that had never visited the Museum were selected. The research instrument was a semi-structured questionnaire, administered by the researcher to the professionals in the management team, science teachers and pedagogical coordinators. The results indicated that these professionals have the habit of attending museums with their schools and families and that they also dedicate themselves to other cultural practices, like reading and going to the theater. They recognize the importance and value of these activities for themselves and their students. However, other external factors influence the decision-making process. The main difficulties reported by schools in carrying out complementary activities in the out-of-school environment are lack of transportation, limited budget and urban violence.

摘要:本研究旨在探究周边街区的公立市政学校尚未到访生命博物馆(Museum of Life)的原因。为此,研究选取了14所从未到访过该博物馆的公立学校作为研究对象。研究工具为半结构化问卷,由研究者向学校管理团队成员、理科教师及教学协调员开展施测。结果表明,上述从业人员均有随学校团队或陪同家人参观博物馆的习惯,同时也会参与阅读、观看戏剧等其他文化实践活动。他们认可此类活动对自身及学生的重要性与价值。然而,其他外部因素会对活动决策流程产生影响。学校在开展校外补充活动时所报告的主要困难包括:交通资源匮乏、预算有限以及城市暴力问题。
